The Royal Python should be housed in a vivarium (2 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft minimum)
Wooden Vivariums tend to work best for Leos over glass terrariums or PVC plastic enclosures, as wood is a better insulator, and works better to maintain the temperatures required for a Leo.
Note: Glass tanks (such as fishtanks) are NOT suitable for Horsfield tortoises
-
Leopard Geckos are a crepuscular species and require a suitable light and heat gradient in the enclosure to simulate a complete 24-hour period
Overhead heating is our recommendation for Leos, this could be a glass, ceramic heat emitter, halogen or a deep heat projector (heater guard required)
Heat mats are another option as long as its run off a thermostat. (is heat mats are your preferred method then they are to be used instead of overhead heating)
-
No additional light source required.
